We are pleased to introduce Estelle Gerber, our newly appointed Risk and Compliance Manager and Conveyancer at ESI Attorneys.
Estelle grew up in Goodwood as an only child in a close and supportive home. Although she did not have siblings, she was surrounded by extended family and spent much of her childhood at family gatherings with cousins and relatives. Those early years gave her a strong sense of connection and a deep appreciation for family life and community.
Estelle studied at Stellenbosch University, a time she often looks back on as one of real growth. Her years there were not only about academics but also about learning how to navigate new environments and build lasting friendships. Stellenbosch played an important role in shaping how she approaches both her personal and professional life today.
Estelle started her legal career in 2014 when she began her articles. It was during this time that she developed a real interest in property transactions and estate administration. She enjoyed the detail and structure of conveyancing work and found meaning in helping clients through important life events such as buying and selling property. Over time, she built solid experience in conveyancing and developed a strong understanding of the importance of compliance in legal practice. Her role has since expanded into risk and compliance where she now helps to ensure that the firm meets all regulatory requirements and follows internal policies and industry standards.
In her current position, Estelle works closely with different teams across the firm. She helps identify potential risks and improves processes so that work is not only compliant, but also practical and efficient. A big part of her role is also about communication and making sure everyone understands why certain procedures are in place and how they protect both clients and the firm.
Outside of work, Estelle is very family focused. She is married and has a lively four year old son who keeps her busy and entertained. Family time is important to her and she values the simple everyday moments they share together. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening. It gives her a chance to slow down and spend time outdoors. She also enjoys catching up with family and friends, whether it is over a meal or a relaxed visit.
The principle Estelle lives by is simple: Treat others the way you would like to be treated. It is a principle that shows in the way she works with people and in how she approaches her role each day.
We are very pleased to have Estelle as part of the team and look forward to the contribution she will continue to make.
