One such gem is Lara Versfeld, a dedicated bond secretary and the creative mind behind the beautiful layout of our 2025 calendar.
Growing Up with Strength and Resilience
Lara grew up in Boston, Bellville, in a warm and loving home with her mother and older sister. Raised by a single mother, Lara learned early on what resilience and strength truly look like. “My mom is my greatest inspiration,” she says. “She taught me the value of hard work and unconditional love.”
Her Journey into Law
Lara’s career began in her early twenties at a law firm where she started out as a temp in the bond department. What began as a short-term role quickly grew into a full-time position. With her attention to detail and eagerness to learn, she soon found herself handling Nedbank bond registrations.
In 2013, Lara joined ESI Attorneys, where she now manages FNB bond registrations. From initial instruction to final registration, Lara oversees the full bond process with calm precision and a client-focused approach.
Family and Fulfilment
Lara has been with her husband, Christo, for 19 years, and they’ve been married for 10 of those. “I feel truly lucky to be married to my best friend,” she says with a smile. Together, they have two beautiful and intelligent daughters who are the centre of Lara’s world. “They inspire me every day to be my best self.”
Creativity Beyond the Office
Beyond her legal role, Lara is a passionate creative. In fact, she was the graphic designer behind our 2025 ESI calendar, infusing it with warmth, colour and originality. In her downtime, Lara enjoys reading, painting—especially portraiture—and spending quality time with her family. “Anything creative makes me feel alive,” she shares.
Her Philosophy
Lara lives by a simple but powerful moral: “Always give your best in everything you do. Go the extra mile.” It’s a value she applies both professionally and personally and it’s one of the many reasons we’re proud to have her on our team.
