At the heart of ESI Attorneys’ Transfer Department is Mirisna Carstens, a dedicated professional who has been an integral part of the team for almost seven years. Mirisna’s journey is one of perseverance, growth, and an unwavering commitment to her work and her loved ones.
Growing Up in Malmesbury
Mirisna’s story begins in the small town of Malmesbury, where she spent the first 18 years of her life. After finishing her matric at a local school, she moved to Durbanville with her mom. Malmesbury will always hold a special place in her heart, but moving to Durbanville opened a new chapter for her.
Starting Her Career
Mirisna’s career started immediately after her matric exams when she began working at a small boutique in Cape Town. However, her path took an unexpected turn when she entered the legal world, joining a small firm with little knowledge of the industry. “It was a real challenge,” she recalls, “especially since Afrikaans was my only language.” Yet, Mirisna embraced the challenge and, five years later, she found herself at ESI Attorneys where she has been thriving ever since.
A Life Rooted in Family
Mirisna’s pride in her family is evident. She is engaged to her fiancé, Ruan, who shares many of her interests and together they form a close-knit team both in and out of work. “I’m blessed to have such a loving fiancé,” she says. Beyond her relationship with Ruan, Mirisna speaks warmly about her mother, who is her best friend and constant source of support.
A Day in the Life at ESI
Mirisna’s workday at ESI Attorneys begins with a ritual that many can relate to: a cup of coffee. “Actually, the second one by the time I get to the office!” she laughs. Once settled in, her day revolves around ensuring smooth lodgements, registrations, and payments for her clients. From 8 am until late, Mirisna focusses on keeping her files and her deals on track, always making sure that her clients are happy. Her dedication to client satisfaction is at the core of her work ethic and it’s clear that she takes immense pride in making a difference in people’s lives.
Achievements and Personal Pride
When asked about her achievements, Mirisna beams with pride over the person she has become. “I am proud of the woman I am today,” she says. Without formal degrees or diplomas, she has built a successful career where she helps people realise their dreams of home ownership. But it’s not just her professional accomplishments that she values—she is equally proud of the relationships she has nurtured with her family and friends.
A Life Motto to Live By
Mirisna’s approach to life is guided by a simple yet powerful moral: treat everyone with respect and love. She believes in the power of positivity and has a refreshing outlook on life, always reminding herself and others that tomorrow is a new day.
Leisure and Passions
Outside of work, Mirisna enjoys spending quality time with Ruan and her close ones, often over a good cup of coffee. CrossFit is another part of her daily routine and she and Ruan enjoy staying active together. Nothing brings her more joy than watching a good game of rugby.
In all aspects of her life, Mirisna embodies resilience, positivity, and dedication, making her not only a valued member of the ESI team but also an inspiring individual.
