Lani van Coller spent her early years in Pretoria before relocating to Cape Town in April 2019. This marked a significant chapter in her life, bringing new opportunities and experiences.
Diverse Career Journey
Lani’s professional path is as diverse as it is impressive. She began her career as a graphic designer, working for LIW, a division of Denel. A bold move led her to Jacaranda 94.2, where she served as an assistant to the technical manager. This role offered her the unique chance to meet renowned national and international music artists, including Sarah Brightman, Helmut Lotti, Michael Buble, Josh Groban, Cat Stevens and Michael Flatley.
Lani’s love for cars and motorcycles then steered her into the motor industry, where she worked as a sales representative for Honda and Suzuki. However, a desire for stability prompted her to join her uncle’s Fiduciary Practice, which focussed on deceased estates. It was here that Lani discovered her true calling, a career she passionately continues to pursue today.
Role at ESI Attorneys
At ESI Attorneys, Lani serves as the estate administrator in the deceased estates department. She oversees the reporting and administration of deceased estates, collaborating closely with her colleague Kayleen, who handles the property transfers from the estates. Lani also drafts and signs wills and liaises with clients about estate matters, ensuring a seamless process during challenging times.
Proud Achievements
Professionally, Lani’s dedication and hard work have earned her membership in the Fiduciary Institute of South Africa (FISA), a testament to her commitment to excellence in her field. On a personal level, she takes immense pride in being a mother to her two sons and a devoted wife to her best friend and partner.
Life Philosophy
Lani lives by the principle of maintaining a grateful heart. She believes in being humble and sensitive to the needs of others and living with integrity. Her philosophy emphasises hard work, trustworthiness and the importance of being true to oneself.
Leisure and Interests
In her free time, Lani enjoys visiting the beach with her family, a cherished activity since moving to the Cape. She also relishes spending time with her eldest son in Pretoria and loves to indulge in animated movies, rock music, MotoGP, Formula One and visiting friends. Her love for animals and her dream of becoming a veterinarian or ranger during childhood reflect her compassionate nature.

Known for her infectious laughter and ability to bring joy to those around her, Lani has always embraced the role of a court jester. She delights in giving—whether it’s her time, a tangible gift, or simply a comforting hug—making her a treasured member of the ESI team and the communities she serves.
