This month, we’re shining the spotlight on Keyarna Anthony, a valued member of our Transfer Department at ESI. With her warm personality, strong work ethic and genuine desire to help others, Keyarna brings a wonderful energy to the team and is always ready to lend a helping hand.
From Elsies River to the Legal Field
Keyarna grew up in Elsies River, surrounded by both of her parents and a strong family foundation. From a young age, she was taught values that continue to guide her today: never worry about what others think or say about you, always be there for your siblings, and never distance yourself from the people around you. Most importantly, she learned the importance of being supportive of others.
After matriculating in 2018, Keyarna entered the working world almost immediately, beginning her career as a receptionist at a factory. Her journey then led her into the legal field, where she worked her way up to becoming a Junior Conveyancing Secretary. Today, she is continuing to grow within the legal industry and has her sights firmly set on achieving even more.
For Keyarna, her career journey is about more than simply having a job, it’s about continually challenging herself, learning and working towards her dream of becoming so much more in the legal field.
A Helping Hand at ESI
In her role at ESI, Keyarna describes her days as being centred around one thing: helping people.
Whether it’s supporting her colleagues, assisting clients or answering questions from agents, Keyarna is always willing to go the extra mile. She takes pride in being someone others can rely on and believes in assisting wherever she can.
Her natural willingness to help has made her a friendly and approachable presence within the team, someone who is happy to step in when a colleague needs assistance or a client needs guidance.
Proud of the Woman She Has Become
When asked about her proudest achievement, Keyarna doesn’t name a specific award, qualification or milestone. Instead, she says she is simply proud of herself.
Having faced hardships, obstacles and difficult moments throughout her journey, she is proud that she continued to push forward. She has learned to embrace both the painful and happy seasons of life without becoming consumed by the “how”, “when” or “what”.
Keyarna credits much of her strength to the unwavering support of her parents and her faith. She continues to push herself and reminds herself every day that she is strong because of everything she has overcome.
Her outlook is beautifully summed up in her belief that “your Riziq is set out for you on a day-to-day basis.” Rather than worrying about what lies ahead, she chooses to trust the journey and have faith in what is meant for her.
Faith, Family and the Simple Things
Faith plays an important role in Keyarna’s life. Her guiding principle is simple: never give up, even when life feels like it is failing you.
She believes that difficult moments are tests from Allah and that the hardest battles are given to the strongest soldiers. It is this faith that gives her the courage to keep going, even when things are challenging.
Outside of work, Keyarna loves spending time with her loved ones and values the comfort of family. She is also looking forward to a very special milestone this year: she will be getting married in December! She is a proud and loving figure to her fiancé’s two children, whom she says she loves and adores immensely.
When she needs a little time to herself, Keyarna enjoys taking a drive to the beach, allowing her to relax, clear her mind and simply let loose.
Looking Ahead
Keyarna’s journey is one of resilience, faith, family and ambition. From starting her career straight after matric to finding her place in the legal field, she continues to strive for more and refuses to let obstacles stand in her way.
With her determination, compassionate nature and willingness to support those around her, we’re excited to see where her journey at ESI takes her next.
