Every property that falls under the City of Cape Town Municipality must have a plumbing compliance certificate and every transfer
needs an electrical wiring compliance certificate issued by a competent professional. A beetle compliance certificate is also almost always required and, should there be any fixed gas appliances or an electric fence around the property, it is advisable that the contract of sale stipulates that a compliance certificate needs to be issued for these also.

The plumbing certificate must be sent to the City of Cape Town Municipality for their approval and often the bank needs to approve
